Introducing our new retreat-style art workshops

Escape, relax, let go and connect with your inner artist

Embrace your innate creativity in this tranquil, fully-equipped ‘creativity retreat’ minutes from Melbourne’s CBD

Our art sessions are designed to draw out and harness your innate creativity in a tranquil yet inspiring environment.

Set in a minimalist space accented with 'inspiration plinths' featuring sculptures, objet d’art and images to spark your creativity, it's a complete escape where you can ‘let go' and connect or reconnect with your excited, wide-eyed inner artist and explore it freely (we will be here to support you, but this is your process).

Each participant in these small group sessions (maximum five people) will have their own easel and fully-equipped art station. Premium art paper is provided or if you'd like to try a canvas, you can purchase one at your session or enrol in a multi-session program where you can progressively work on a canvas project with the option of framing at the end (there is hardly anything more satisfying than telling your guests that you are the artist when they ask about the piece in the hallway).

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! These sessions are designed to provide the conditions for your creativity to emerge.

They are not about painting a masterpiece or unearthing some prodigious 'talent', but rather discovering and exploring the hidden, innate creative part of you with welcoming curiosity. For most people, this freedom and process provide their own insights, satisfaction and excitement (although you'll probably be amazed by what emerges on paper too).

Can I bring my own materials?

If you have your own art supplies, you are welcome to bring them, but our art stations are fully equipped and there is an art store across the street...handy!

Do I need to know what I'm going to paint or draw?

These sessions require no preparation. In fact the less planning, the better as 'overthinking' and 'intellectualising' can stifle creativity. (It's easy to get locked in 'logic' 'reason' and 'rules'). The space and inspiration prompts are configured to spark your creativity. That said, you are more than welcome to bring in books, printouts, etc.

Do you have private group sessions?

We welcome participants to bring a friend or group of friends. Not only is a session a great gift or commemoration for an upcoming birth, engagement, marriage or birthday, undertaking such a personal process together is a powerful bonding experience. We also welcome small professional groups for workplace team building. If your group is 3+, please contact us to discuss a private group session.

What if I just find my creative momentum and then it’s over?

We hope this is just the beginning of your creative journey and welcome you to return for another standalone session or to partake in a 4-session series (if you book 4 sessions, you’ll save $100). Once you’ve connected with your creative side, a multi-session series working on one or more canvases will allow you to delve deeper, explore different perspectives and really get to know your inner artist.
